Use today’s Wordle hints your way
Need a Wordle hint today? Start with the first clue above. It gives you useful direction without showing the word. Open the next hint only when your board stops moving.
If you want the solution, the answer section lets you reveal one letter at a time or uncover the complete five-letter word.
How to use Wordle clues
The best clue gives you enough information for one more useful guess. Our hints move from broad facts to exact letter positions, so you control how much of today’s Wordle you reveal.
Count the vowels
Use the vowel count to decide whether your next guess should test more vowels or focus on consonants.
Fix an outside letter
The first and last letters narrow the word shape while leaving the middle for you to solve.
Check for repeats
A repeated letter can hide because one copy may be green or yellow while another looks gray.
Use the meaning
The final definition clue points toward the idea behind the word without spelling the answer.
What the Wordle tile colors mean
Each tile tells you whether a letter belongs in the answer and whether it is in the right place. Read all five tiles together before choosing your next guess.
Green means correct
The letter belongs in that exact position. Keep it there while testing the remaining spots.
Yellow means move it
The answer contains the letter, but it belongs somewhere else. Rule out the position you tested.
Gray usually means absent
The letter is not in the answer unless another copy received a green or yellow tile.
Repeated-letter rule: A gray copy does not always remove the letter. It may mean the answer contains fewer copies than your guess.
What to do when today’s Wordle feels hard
A difficult puzzle often has a repeated letter, an uncommon letter, or several words that fit the same pattern. Use your board to identify which problem you have.
You have mostly gray tiles
Try five fresh letters when possible. Avoid replaying gray letters unless a known pattern makes one necessary.
You have several yellow tiles
Move each yellow letter into a new position. The solver above can exclude the positions you already tested.
Several answers still fit
List the letters that change between the remaining words. With guesses left, test several of those letters together.
You are on the final guess
Play a word that can be the answer. A throwaway test word cannot help after your last turn.
How to choose a Wordle starting word
A useful opening word tests common letters and avoids repeats. Words such as CRANE, SLATE, and RAISE test different mixes of vowels and consonants. No starting word guarantees a win.
After a strong result
Build around your green and yellow letters. Use new positions and remove letters the board has ruled out.
After a weak result
A mostly gray opener still gives useful information. Choose fresh letters instead of repeating the ones that failed.
Today’s Wordle FAQ
These answers explain how the daily hints, solution, difficulty estimate, and archive work.
Where can I find today’s Wordle hint?
The interactive hint cards at the top of this page contain six clues. Start with the vowel count and reveal more only if needed.
What does today’s Wordle start with?
Open the starting-letter card in the daily hints section. It reveals the first letter without showing the complete answer.
Where is today’s Wordle answer?
The answer appears below the hints. You can reveal a single letter first or show the full five-letter solution.
Can a Wordle answer use a letter twice?
Yes. An answer may repeat a letter in neighboring or separate positions. The daily repeat clue tells you whether to consider this.
Is the difficulty score official?
No. The score out of 10 is an editorial estimate based on the word’s letters, vowel balance, repetition, and shape. It is not an NYT player average.
When does the Wordle answer update?
The homepage checks for the new puzzle at the configured New York date boundary. The date, puzzle number, clues, answer, and metadata then update on this same URL.
Does the solver include yellow positions?
Yes. Enter yellow letters in the solver, then add each letter beneath any position where it cannot appear.
Where are previous Wordle answers?
The past-answer table above lists saved puzzles by date and number. Today’s answer stays outside that table to prevent an accidental spoiler.
